Privacy Policy

This draft explains what the current Novixme website stores for video discovery and for product commerce when orders are enabled. It should be reviewed by counsel before a public launch.

What you can do without an account

Guests can send discovery messages and watch videos. That conversation is kept in a PHP session cookie on this browser. It is not written to the account database unless you later create an account in the same browser session, in which case the current discovery can be saved to the new account. Guests can also view product and policy pages without an account.

Accounts

If you register, Novixme stores your name, email address, a password hash, and any interests you choose to add. If you use Google to sign up or sign in, Novixme stores your Google account id with that email and name. It does not store a Google access token. It also stores your discovery messages, video-page chats, saved videos, and videos you open while signed in. You can update your name and interests, or delete the account. Deleting the account removes those rows from the database.

Product orders (when checkout is enabled)

When live checkout is enabled, order information needed to fulfill and support a purchase—such as name, shipping address, email, phone, items, amounts, and payment-provider references—will be processed by Novixme and by payment and fulfillment partners. Card data is handled by the payment provider; Novixme does not intend to store full card numbers on this server. Exact processors and subprocessors will be listed here once selected and approved.

Messages sent to the AI service

Discovery and watch-page messages are sent to OpenAI so Novixme can plan a search, rank videos, or discuss a video. The request includes the conversation, search preferences, and video metadata already retrieved from YouTube. It can also include interests you saved on your account. API keys stay on the server.

YouTube

Searches and video details are requested from the YouTube Data API. Novixme stores video identifiers and metadata needed to show cards and play a video. Playback is handled by YouTube and is subject to YouTube’s own policies. See the YouTube attribution page.

Contact form

If you send a contact message, Novixme stores your name, email address, and message in the site database so it can be read. You may also email [email protected] directly.

Cookies, analytics, and security

The site uses a session cookie to keep you signed in and to remember a guest conversation. The cookie is HTTP-only. Passwords are hashed. Database queries use prepared statements. If analytics or marketing cookies are added later, they will be disclosed here. Novixme does not sell personal information, and this draft does not claim any certification that has not been completed.
